This week is Madison's Spring Break and she is having so much fun at the YMCA day camp. On her last day of school, the entire kindergarten class performed tradional square dances for the parents. They have been practicing since January and it was incredible. Here she is performing 3 different dances. Maddie's good friend, Lila, is in the plaid shirt and our next door neighbor and psuedo boy friend, Sean, appears to have dressed himself this day. Sean is to the left of Maddie. Bless him.
Apparently square dancing is a great way to teach kids to work together and follow directions. I have talked to the parents of kindergartens at other schools and even in other districts and they were all attending a square dance at the school. McKenzie announced to us after so much fuss about the Hoe Down that her school (Christian pre- school, predominantly black) was having a Hoe Up. What could I say?
